Item 2: Brief History
Gillison Excavating actually began as Mallison Excavating in 1961. In 1991, Jim Mallison sold the company to Jim and Elie Gillison, as Gillison Excavating doing business as (D.B.A.) Mallison Excavating; however, he stayed on as consultant and salesman for the next 3 years.
The company became incorporated on December 30th, 1992 and the D.B.A. was terminated May 10th, 2001. In April of 1991, son Ben became employed with the company, with son-in-law Bill Huddleston joining the team in May of 1994, rounding off the family business.

In partnership with Michigan State University, under the direction of Dr. Ted Louden, Gillison Excavating has constructed and maintained two on site waste water treatment systems. These projects are located on the south side of Crystal Lake. Both were funded by the National Onsite Waste Water Demonstration Project, and each system incorporates timed dosing, media filters and nitrogen removal.
